![]() William Fox Pitt with Diable Au Corps |
William Fox Pitt rode eight year old, 17.0 hand Diable Au Corps in the Intermediate Class Section III. William scored 31 on the dressage and picked up only five time points on the cross-country. With no penalties on the show jumping or the cross-country he beat Sonya Rowe on Not Expected by just one point.
"I had a good win, which was very pleasing. It's the first win on this horse, Diable Au Corps (whatever that means), and I hope we'll go a lot further.
"The Open section will be hotly competitive, so I felt that I'd rather bring them down a level and just enjoy a nice run before they do their three day events. Moon Man is going to Blenheim and Stunning is going to Burghley, so they don't really need to have a testing run. I'm just hoping for good all round performances."
When asked about the Scottish Championship, William told us: "I've come to Thirlestane every year since 1993 and I wouldn't miss it for anything. The ground's good, it's good for the horses and there's tremendous hospitality for the riders. It's just a terrific atmosphere."
