Lauderdale Development Forum
The Forum was established to co-ordinate the work of the groups set up to implement the findings of the 1996 Community Appraisal. That initial function evolved to one od assisting the work of all voluntary and other organisations associated with Lauderdale, who seek assistance.
The main purpose of the Forum is to bring together representatives from all voluntary organisations active in Lauderdale in the furtherance of community spirit. The Forum provides for the exchange of information and lends support to the work of local groups. Joint fund-raising ventures, advice on applications for funding and special community events are examples of the work of the Forum.
The Forum meets at least five times a year – in January, March, May, September and November – and consists of representatives from many community groups including the Community Councils.
The Chairman of the Forum is: Alistair Smith, 1 Millburn Park, Lauder TD2 6SL (01578 722473)
